After a long and very cold winter, the sun has finally come out and the weather is beautiful all over France, even in Brittany. Warmer weather means outdoor activities, hours on the road (and in traffic jams) and a great summer vacation. For me, this means that I drop the car to walk whenever possible. I change my clothes (in Brittany, summer clothes are often worn for less than a month), I also want light meals based on raw vegetables and fruity snacks, and I take advantage of fresh and colorful seasonal products . If you’re looking for tips and ideas for healthy eating in the summer, you’ve come to the right place. Here are my best tips and tricks for your summer meals and snacks.


In some regions, the temperature rises above 40 ° C, so we hydrate, without asking questions. This is obviously the first thing to do, whether you go out in the sun or stay locked up at home: don’t forget to hydrate yourself! The average person’s water needs vary depending on size and lifestyle, but whether you plan to be active or just want to sunbathe, you should drink plenty of plain water rather than sugary or carbonated drinks because it really hydrates, calorie-free and sugar-free.

Fruit and vegetable meals are great for healthy eating in the summer. Choosing the product of your season is the best way to get more variety in your diet. I love fresh steamed green beans, just crunchy, then garnish with tomato or cherry tomato slices, tuna or mackerel, hard-boiled eggs, flaked almonds to add crunchiness and light vinaigrette: 1/2 tsp red mustard, 2 tsp cider vinegar, 2 tsp olive oil or nuts, 2 tsp water, salt, pepper.

For a fresh snack, choose a pear or a peach spread with almond puree (a delight!).
