How To Make Homemade Hand Sanitizer

Without panicking, it is more important than ever to wash your hands often these days … At least every hour. And even if nothing will replace the good old soap (not anti-bacterial!), The hand sanitizer is very useful when you don’t have access to a sink.

But here it is: you may also have noticed in the last days that there are no more on the shelves! Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to do at home, with ingredients you may already have (it was for me).

Warning: the product will be more liquid than that of the trade, and not in gel, but it will still be just as effective. It can be poured into small bottles or even a mini vaporizer.

The Important Thing: Respect The 60%

No matter how much you make or what ingredients you add, the only rule to remember is that there must be a minimum of 60% alcohol in the mixture. This is the minimum quantity to ensure that the bacteria present on the hands are eliminated. The disinfectant can also contain a little more, without problem.

You can therefore modify the quantities and the recipe, but be sure to do a little calculation to arrive at your 60% minimum rubbing alcohol.
