The university is an ideal environment for meetings with teamwork, outings, happy hours, student festivals and other university activities. The early twenties – the age of most academics – also represents a stage where the first significant commitments are experienced, but also the first separations. Although everyone reacts differently to a breakup, the fact remains that many are destitute, some even in a state of crisis. It is therefore no coincidence that the breakup is one of the main reasons for consultation at the Center for Orientation and Psychological Consultation (COCP) of Laval University.
Who are your allies during a love affair? Are there things you can do to alleviate the pain or can time alone help? How to make the break-up less difficult and take advantage of this experience? This document therefore aims to describe the types and causes of separation as well as the steps to be taken. In addition, some strategies to help you go up the slope will be proposed.
