Coconut oil is known for its many softening, sanitizing and nutritious properties. Yes, but between theory and practice, there is sometimes a world of difference. Here are our face, body and hair beauty tips to finally use this coconut oil that has been hanging around for weeks!
As a mask for the hair: be careful, this use is intended more specifically for those who have long thick but brittle hair! Fine hair and with oily tendencies, go your way. Apply on your lengths a good dose of coconut oil previously heated in your palms, being careful to pass between all the locks. Sleep overnight with this 100% natural mask and wash your hair normally the next morning!
As an anti-dandruff treatment: coconut oil is a fungicidal agent, which makes it an ideal treatment against dandruff. You just need to apply coconut oil to your scalp and leave it on for an hour. Then wash your hair normally. To repeat one to four times a month.
To get rid of dark circles: Who likes puffy eyes in the morning? Nobody. Tap your dark circles and (small) suitcases under the eyes with a thin layer of coconut oil for an immediately more alert look.
In night (or even day) cream: daily application of coconut oil all over your face will not grease it, but will moisturize it thoroughly. You can do the same thing during the day, but even if the skin is not shiny it will be slippery and it will be difficult for you to apply your makeup… A good reason to go to the no make-up ?
As a face mask: mix a teaspoon of honey with a teaspoon of coconut oil. Let stand 15-20 min. Then apply on your face and let sit 5 min. Clean your baby’s skin with a make-up disc!
When removing makeup: place the equivalent of a teaspoon of coconut oil on a cotton pad. Then apply against your face to melt the solid coconut oil thanks to your body heat. Rub gently where you have makeup to remove.
For the body.
By hydrating beautifier in summer: the hydrating virtues of coconuts apply of course also to the body! In summer, with the sun, chlorine and salt, the skin needs hydration. In addition to playing this role, coconut oil deposits a light superb shiny veil on tanned legs!
As a shaving cream: at the end of your shower, take the equivalent of three fingers of product for each leg and rub from the knee to the ankle. With the heat of the water, the material will become oily very quickly. The razor therefore slides very well, avoiding cuts, and it will be easy for you to see where you have not yet gone.
To hydrate the cuticles: you may have the most beautiful manicure, if your cuticles peel, it will be abominable. Once or twice a day, apply a small amount of coconut oil on and around your nails to hydrate. Be careful however for those who work on a computer, coconut oil can make the fingers a little slippery. To be applied rather in the evening when returning and before going to sleep.
As a scrub: mix 100 grams of coconut oil with 200 grams of brown sugar (and possibly 100 grams of almond pulp). Add a few drops of essential oils and voila!
Exfoliate the day before.
The basis of the self-tanner is a good scrub the day before the application. Exfoliating the skin will cause all of the small dead skin to be removed. For optimal exfoliation, choose a scrub with large grains.
If you don’t have it on hand, mix sugar with olive oil for example to make a homemade scrub. If you want to apply self-tanner on the face, use a gentle scrub intended for the more fragile skin in this area.
